Medicare

Medicare Plan C or Medicare Advantage makes it possible for people with Plan B or medical insurance and Plan A or hospital insurance to receive their specific Medicare benefits in an effective and alternative manner. You should note that Medicare Advantage plans are normally provided by private insurance organisations that are contracted with Medicare and they offer at least the same coverage level that is provided by Plan B and Plan A.

Different Plans are included in Medicare, i.e. each Plan offers different services for health insurance policies. Medicare Plan A deals with hospital insurance. The services would only be applicable to the hospitals that are added to Medicare. Thus, if you go to some other hospital outside the list of Medicare, you’ll have to pay for it. The hospital insurance services ease you when you are an inpatient in the hospital. It does not mean that you can ask for unnecessary stay at the hospital. It will only be applicable when it is operated and prescribed by the doctor of that hospital.

Plan A covers skilled nursing facility care as well. Again, this is applicable to the prescription of the doctor. In addition to it, nursing facility is provided for the short-term period stay. Medicare does not offer custodial care as it is concerned with non-skilled nursing care.

Hospice care also comes under the services of Plan A. For hospice services, you do not have to pay for the things mentioned in the policy. These are provided to the people prescribed by the doctor. The insurance policy does not pay for personal things like laundry, cleaning, or other stuff.

Plan B includes medical insurance. These services include payment for such things that are important for the diagnose and the treatment of the person. It covers clinical research studies. This study includes checking the treatment and to see whether the treatment or medication affects the patient positively or not.

Ambulance services are also offered by Plan B of Medicare. In this service, a person does not have to pay for ambulance transportation. It involves transportation by car, airplane, or helicopter as well. Plan B also durable medical equipment coverage as well. It means that you can have the medical equipment free of cost, if the equipment providers are enrolled in Medicare.

Together with these Plans, Plan D is also included in the Medicare services. It deals with prescription drug services. It means that a person does not have to pay for the drugs that are prescribed by the doctor enrolled in Medicare. They are provided free of cost. These Plans come under the Medicare original program.

It is, however, important to note that Medicare Advantage or Plan C offers more benefits than the ones that are generally provided under Original Medicare. Other than providing you with more benefits, Plan C costs you less as well. These are some of the common benefits that are provided by the Plan C. Medicare Advantage plans effectively coordinate care among providers of healthcare. Furthermore, Plan C can serve as your effective one-stop centre for all of your prescription and health drug coverage needs.
